About the Collections

“Most of my designs are inspired by some interesting material or color combination reminding me of a natural phenomena or special event. Although I have a general idea of the desired outcome, I often develop a piece as it grows by changing colors or techniques to create the perfect outcome. I love to work with natural materials like silk, cotton, bamboo, flax and linen and always let the natural fibers guide me into the most appropriate way to use them. During the last 2 decades I have revived the heritage techniques of Broomstick lace, Hairpin lace, Tunisian lace, Irish lace and thread lace and now use them in interesting combinations to move their past heritage into the future.”

"Most of my Wedding designs are build on Irish Crochet designs and wisdom. I spent several summers in Ireland as a student and tried to learn as much as possible from local women still practicing the old patterns. Aran crochet was still popular in the fishing villages; wool sweaters worked for husbands going out to sea. Of course, it was the potato famine that brought the art of thread lace from Italy to Ireland to teach the local women to create beautiful lace pieces with floral designs to support their income. Each county in Ireland has their own specific design, there is a rose of Sharon, rose of Killarney etc. There are matching leaves and shamrock patterns used for good luck on bridal fashions and I am very excited to create contemporary bridal pieces with the original patterns for inspiration. All my Irish lace pieces are worked with a tiny hook and very thin mercerized cotton. They take long stretches of time to complete and are meant to become heirlooms for your family."

"I love to create special pieces for babies with Irish floral designs and Victorian flair. Old books and prints are great inspirations for me. I have an unusual way of working many of my baby designs by starting at the hem and proceeding towards the top. This gives me great flexibility of design. love babies as you can see!"

Babes Christening Collection

"My Christening gowns are meant to be passed down through the generations. Most are worked in the heritage techniques and inspired by special events, such as visiting Salzburg during the Mozart Festival or a stroll through the Biltmore House in Asheville, NC. I have studied the Vanderbilt family portraits and spent time in the beautiful Biltmore Gardens, only to return home and start one of my designs. Each one has a story, which I try to reflect in the given name of the piece. Customers have also used my gowns to dress baby for formal, multi-generational family portraits. At any rate, one of these regal gowns is perfect for your perfect baby!"
